Food portions measured without measuring tools
« on: May 06, 2017, 05:14:47 pm »
One problem with cooking for someone with MS is that it involves quite a few reaches as you try to get at the ingredients you need and the utensils you need. Reaching for measuring spoons and cups can be tiring when you already need to reach into cabinets and the refrigerator for ingredients and into drawers and cabinets for pots and pans, and maybe you have to connect and start an appliance too.

This article from the Berkeley Wellness Letter (April 6) points out that there are ways of measuring that don't involve any measuring tools. Hands differ in size as the article states, and so you have to figure out your own equivalents if you intend to be fairly accurate.  I look forward to the ap that will enable people to personalize these shortcuts.
