[/size]While we are encouraged by the advancement of COVID-19 vaccine efforts, prioritization (recognizing many attendees, speakers, vendors, staff [of the Moscone Center, AAN, hotels, and vendors], and other participants will not be included in Phase 1) and dissemination timelines indicate that current safety protocols, such as social distancing and capacity restrictions, will be required in April 2021, drastically restricting capacity and ability to ensure everyone’s safety. The AAN has therefore decided, for reasons beyond our control, that it is necessary to cancel the in-person 2021 AAN Annual Meeting in San Francisco scheduled for April 17-24 and change the meeting to a fully virtual 2021 Annual Meeting to be held April 17-22. We have been hard at work taking all the reasonable precautions in our planning to be prepared for this possibility.[/color][/size]As we reimagine the Annual Meeting, the Academy will push the boundaries as it does each year, of what a medical meeting can be.
