BrainTalk (MS forum) chitchat thread, temporarily moved
« on: March 25, 2021, 12:03:32 pm »
Since BrainTalk seems to be doing the upgrade, I'll take the liberty of setting up this as a chitchat thread where people can discuss whatever is on their minds while we wait.  Others from BrainTalk who don't have MS are welcome here as well, of course.

What have you been doing lately?

Hi, Sunshine! Nice to see you!

Now I feel less cut off!

I can hardly believe this is happening, and maybe we'll end up with a new and improved BrainTalk.

Be back later!

Sunshine, I managed somehow to delete your most recent post but I'll try to remember it. You asked where the other members of the MS board are and whether there was any idea of how long BT would be down. Sorry about the deletion!

There was no estimate for how long the upgrade would take. If you recall past down-times, sometimes they lasted for many weeks. I hope this one won't be like that.

The other members might be hoping that BrainTalk will be back again shortly but they do know about this place and many are registered here. Maybe more will check in if time goes by with BT still down.

P.S. There are at least 11 people registered here who are currently posting on the BrainTalk MS board. Some of them might decide to drop in here as you've done, Sunshine.

Agate, I cannot get into Braintalk. I used my username and password to no avail. So I tried to re-register as a new person, but since its the same email as always, the comment is “You already have an account”.
I tried to change the username password, but the email from BT had weird symbols in it and the link did not work.
Maybe I should wait a week for BT to settle down?

Got it agate.
I have tried everything. I guess I could have a new address, like hotmail? I don’t really know how to do that. I have a comcast.net address as it is. My gmail address is reserved for communications only from friends: there is never any spam in it.

Hi, Sunshine,
You tried the "Contact Us" button and that yielded nothing? Not even a reply? I'm really surprised. Or maybe they said you'd need to re-register with a different e-mail?

In any case, Hotmail is still around--and gmx.com is another free e-mail. You could use it just for that registration. You might want to keep checking it in case there are some notifications from BrainTalk, and that could be a nuisance.  They don't typically send many notifications any more though they might resume e-mail notifications about replies to your posts.

You just go to the e-mail Website of your choice and sign up. It's been ages since I did this but years ago it was very simple. You'll probably need to pick a user name and password but that's probably all there is to it.

This might help:  https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/free-email-accounts

If you scroll down, you'll find a list of free e-mail accounts. I have one at gmx.com that I haven't used in years but it's still there and I never had a problem with it.

Hope to see you there soon--
Joan
