This abstract describes a 26-year-old man with relapsing MS who was treated with HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation) and 13 years later is doing fine, without any recurrence of MS symptoms. The authors suggest that the HSCT may have cured his MS.
I wonder, though, if it's equally likely that his MS has been in remission and might have gone into remission without the HSCT?
