From MedPage Today (July 31, 2018), a report about a California doctor whose license may have been revoked:

Quote
Michael Arata, MD, of Newport Beach, is one of a small group of doctors who performed a risky, unproven vein-opening procedure on desperate patients with chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI), a condition purportedly linked to multiple sclerosis (MS); the doctors often charged thousands of dollars up front.

A Website for Dr. Arata has the notation "We are not currently accepting patients" but whether or not his license has actually been revoked isn't known.

Remember when this was touted as a miracle cure on the forums? I seem to remember a few people that had bad side effects from the procedure.

Yes, I do remember. I don't know if you're aware that there's an MS board that  was pretty much wholeheartedly devoted to promoting CCSVI for years. They even had a doctor there who was posting about it--again, for years. Many people were desperate enough to spend the money and take the risk involved. It was a very active place.

I vaguely remember that. There are a lot of scoundrels out there taking advantage of desperate people.

There was money to be made. I believe that the CCSVI procedure is fairly costly--and some people were willing to travel long distances to have it done.
