Once again, MS is shown to have an association with Epstein-Barr virus though it is emphasized here that the patients studied were ill enough with viral infections to have been hospitalized.


The authors point out that if these links between viral infections and a variety of neurodegenerative disorders exist, then vaccines against the viral infections might be a way of preventing the appearance of those neurodegenerative disorders that are linked to them.
