From BBC News (December 3), an article about a clever practice in Finland--issuing "baby boxes" to new parents in Finland. The boxes contain various items of use in caring for the new baby--and the box itself seems to be an ideal bed for the baby as well--"Why This Country Parcels Babies in Boxes":
