How hospice became a for-profit hustle (New Yorker)
« on: January 08, 2023, 09:07:18 pm »

I've known of quite a few people who used hospice services at the end of their lives. I'd like to think that they received the kind of attentive, helpful care that should have been given. But this unsettling article in the New Yorker (December 5, 2022) indicates that hospice care is often fraught with problems:

If you find that you are up against the New Yorker paywall, you may need to wait until next month to view it as one of your allowable free articles.

It is an article that probably should be read by anyone who might ever need hospice care or who has loved ones who are in hospice care or about to enter into it.
