Post by: agate on October 01, 2017, 04:27:04 pm
It can be comforting to have medical attention. It is attention, after all, and it's coming from trained personnel. But sometimes medical treatments and procedures don't need to be done, and it's up to us as patients to ask the right questions and sometimes say No to a doctor's recommendation.

From the New York Times, September 6, 2017:

"Overtreatment is common, doctors say" by Nicholas Bakalar (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/06/well/live/health-care-overtreatment-doctor-survey.html?em_pos=small&emc=edit_hh_20170908&nl=well&nl_art=2&nlid=20340512&ref=headline&te=1)
