Title: The problem with sleeping pills (Consumer Reports)

Sleeping pills aren't the best way to be trying to catch up on sleep or to get a good night's sleep, in spite of what many people think. When my children were born and I was in the hospital for their delivery, the nurses would come around at bedtime and offer every woman "something to help you sleep." They really urged these pills on us--without bothering to tell us just what we'd be getting.  It's this sort of attitude that can be dangerous--that if you just pop this pill, it's totally harmless and you'll sleep better. Not true, according to this article in Consumer Reports (December 12, 2018):
