Title: (Abst.) Multiple cause of death analysis in MS: A population-based study
Post by: agate on January 19, 2020, 08:24:45 am

Most authorities on MS will say that MS is rarely or never a "cause of death" although I've seen a few reports stating that a person "died of multiple sclerosis." I understand that that usually means "died of complications of multiple sclerosis."  This study, appearing in Neurology, addresses the issue of the cause of death in a large number of deaths where MS was mentioned--and concludes that the actual precipitating cause of death was something (like an infection) that could have been better treated or avoided.
