If you've wondered what the difference is between a doctor with an M.D. and one with a D.O. (doctor of osteopathy) degree, this article in Medical News Today (February 19, 2020) explains it:

My neurologist is both, MD and DO. He was born in Vietnam and his parents were killed during the Vietnam War. He eventually ended up in the US and had sponsors, similar to foster parents I think. He spent many years studying and ended up in our small town and with another office in one of the closer collar counties of Chicago. He's not an MS specialist but a very good doctor.
