I'm on my fourth pedometer now. I've had either freebies or very inexpensive ones so far and question their accuracy but at least I have a general idea of my daily step count and find that knowing that does indeed motivate me to walk more.

Interesting that studies of pedometer use in MS are being done. This is the abstract of one indexed by PubMed (June 10, 2020)--"Pedometers, the frustrating motivators: A qualitative investigation of users' experiences of the Yamax SW-200 among people with multiple sclerosis":

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32515233/

The study questions the accuracy of this pedometer, and a search for it on Amazon.com reveals that it is "currently unavailable" and only 39% of the people rating it gave it the top rating (5 stars). One has to wonder why the study wasn't done with a pedometer that was known to be accurate....
