I find dealing with banks, particularly about credit or debit card transactions, to be particularly time-consuming and tiring. Worrying about possible misuse of a credit or debit card doesn't make a person's life easier either. It seems that the special chips that were added to cards a while back--with credit card issuing banks sending out new cards furnished with chips that were supposed to make the card more secure--aren't so secure after all. Of course there are ways around that technology. This article in Consumer Reports (May 4, 2018) offers a few suggestions about keeping cards secure--"Watch Your Debit and Credit Cards: Thieves Get Craftier with Skimmers and Shimmers":
