From Multiple Sclerosis News Today (December 13, 2019), this article makes the point that any activity is helpful. A person doesn't need to work out, go to a gym, have a trainer, or undertake any formal exercise program. It's also a matter of doing more and sitting less:

University of Alberta researchers suggest that small changes in daily life, like sitting less and walking more, can be as healthful as formal exercise.
